14u Head Coach Tournament Bound

Bio

– I played on the Buffalo Saints ’81 Select Team which won the Midget Tier I (AAA) NYS Championship in 1999, played in the 1999 Tier I USAH National Championship, and won two Tier I tournaments in Southern Ontario in 98-99. In summer 1998, I played with the Empire State Games Western Region Team.

– I played 4 years of Varsity Hockey at Hamburg High School, was team co-captain for two years, and was the leading point scorer on the 96-97 Southtowns League Championship team.

– In the 23-24 season, I was co-coach with Rachael Herman for Edge 8U. Prior to that, I was head coach for 3 years with 10U and 10U/12U mix teams for Rochester Edge.  Moving forward I plan to work with each of my players to construct an individualized development plan, with clear goals.

– Professionally speaking, I have a PhD from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!), have been a Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in Mathematics at the University of Rochester for 13 years, and do research in Mathematical Physics and Operations Research (which focuses on allocating resources in most efficient ways to meet goals).

– Fun facts about me: I am an expert Nintendo player (for example, I have beaten Mike Tyson’s Punchout without getting punched and can beat Contra without losing a life) and I play the guitar.
